Vox Hunt: Got Gas?
Show us the gas prices in your area.
Why yes, thank you, I am aware that despite prices dropping we are getting hosed.
(These are the lowest prices that can be found today, in our area of Cook County, measured in American gallons.)
Aren't most other parts of the world still paying more than this?
We have no reason to complain.
Comparison between Toronto, Canada and two of the most expensive places in the lower 48 United States in which one can buy petrol: San Franciso and Chicago. The Canadians are "blue."

Hope you are doing okay sweetie.

You have my empathy. Europeans, as well as many other areas of the world have paid far more than the United States for many years.
I'm terrible because I couldn't work up any sympathy for people here complaining. I'd ask if they'd taken a gander up north (Canada) or over your way. Of course they had no idea. <eyeroll>
Sucks that we depend on petrol at all but it the high prices have driven people to be more industrious and countries to shore up public transport. Now the US needs to get with the programme.

hugs and kisses to your adoable brood!
I'm gobsmacked at how the price of petrol is plunging here--every single day it drops. It's about to decrease to less than $2.00 US gallon even here in the super-high taxed area of Cook County (Chicago's county). It was well over $4.00 before. Incredible.
Riding bikes when you can is the smart thing to do--and except for me--who needs a new bike--everyone here does.
Spouse and I have a sort of mantra about how lucky we are that he literally is within walking distance to work. Ironically, the big slow down is a huge traffic light at the Motorola entrance--otherwise a 2-minute bike ride.
I work from home and we live in an area with most everything we need within a few miles but I've heard horror stories like the fellow that spouse knows who drove from another state to work here--gas prices stretched the family beyond thin--and now the fellow has been layed off.
